Narrow it down: Because there are so many styles, colors and brands to choose from, first narrow down your choices to those you are most interested in.

Determine the Type of Hardware you need
For example, check your interior and exterior doors. See if the latch side is prepped with a circle or square. This will determine if you need a mortise latch or a drive in latch.
